Our ceremonies enable you to openly declare your love for one another, reflect on your achievements and responsibilities, your hopes and dreams and joyously make affirmations for your future together.

We work with you to make absolutely sure your ceremony is unique to you.
We’ve enjoyed conducting Ceremonies in all sorts of special and magical places and can offer advice and ideas about venues.

At the moment to legally marry in England you need a recognised religious minister or local registrar. These ceremonies are often very basic and do not reflect your own beliefs. Our ceremonies can include the registrar who does the legal bit and we create the more personal and imaginative bit!

Attend the registry office first and deal with the civil legalities and then separately, delight in the spiritual, at the Ceremony we have helped you to create.

As the legal side will have already been taken care of, there is no need to hold the ceremony in a licensed venue and so there are no time or place constraints with a ‘Light On Life’ Ceremony’; night time ceremonies ,by candle light, the place where you both love to be together, that magical place in the countryside.

Weddings

At the breaking of dawn or in the middle of the day. In the woods, on the beach, in your garden, in a very posh hotel or the village hall. The choice is yours!

And if you choose to have your ceremony in your own environment, perhaps with a beautiful tent in your garden, you are able to control the costs, such as food and drink.

However, many couples wish to combine the legal ceremony with a Light on Life Ceremony and we are happy to accommodate this. The superintendent registrar carries out the legal framework within the personal ceremony we have helped create. This of course must be carried out in a licensed venue.

We are committed to helping you find natural and sustainable ecological and economic ways to celebrate your marriage.

How much does it cost?
The ceremony is the most important part of the day, it’s the memory you make, which will sustain you in the future. What you say and what is done in the ceremony seals the relationship between you. It needs careful preparation over time. You should give your ceremony more attention than anything else. You also need to be happy and comfortable with your choice of celebrant; you need to trust that everything will be created in an intelligent, thoroughly professional way but with lots of fun, imagination and creativity. With this knowledge at the forefront of our work, we ask for a fee that reflects the work involved.

We charge a fee of £400.

This includes initial meeting, writing first draft of ceremony and revising draft until it’s just right for you both, liaising with people involved in ceremony, rehearsal of ceremony and readers, singers and musicians, supporting family and friends during the day, use of ritual objects, and of course conducting on the day. We also present a beautiful copy of the ceremony afterwards.

In addition we ask for travelling costs at £10 per hour, travel expenses and overnight accommodation where necessary, this is always agreed beforehand.

The payment is made in stages.

At the initial meeting we ask for £50 which is offset against the cost should you wish to proceed.

We then ask for £100 for the first draft of the ceremony to go ahead, this is the non refundable deposit.

We invoice you after the ceremony for the remainder of the fee; £250 plus expenses. If it is necessary to travel a long way we sometimes ask for expenses before our journey.

If there are more than 150 guests, we recommend a trained assistant who would accompany us and assist in looking after the practicalities of the venue and supporting guests. We charge £100 plus expenses for this.

We are also able to provide a PA, sometimes useful for out of doors ceremonies
