Our ceremonies enable you to openly declare your love for one another, reflect on your achievements and responsibilities, your hopes and dreams and joyously make affirmations for your future together.

We work with you to make absolutely sure your ceremony is unique to you.

We’ve enjoyed conducting Ceremonies in all sorts of special and magical places both in the UK and abroad and can offer advice and ideas about venues.

For centuries, the love of one man for another and one woman for another has been repressed and many people have suffered in the face of this. A public ceremony of affirmation has not been possible until very recently. Our Ceremonies reflect the pride we feel, at Light on Life, that in our lifetime, Gays and Lesbians are able to openly declare their love for one another, as is the right of every human being.

We have conducted many Ceremonies for Gay and Lesbian Life Partners and have performed many of these at London Partnership Register, set up by Ken Livingstone’s administration.

We are quite happy to create ceremonies that include a local registrar as part of the occasion. As we work very closely with you over time, we are able to combine the registry office formal procedure within your own unique and imaginative ceremony.

Since December 2005, Lesbian and Gay Civil Partnerships are legally recognised.
Something to Celebrate!

Have the simple, legal ceremony at the registry office and then let us create a beautiful and totally unique ceremony that has at its heart ..YOU!”

As the legal side will have already been taken care of, there is no need to hold the ceremony in a licensed venue and so there are no time or place constraints with a ‘Light On Life’ Ceremony’; night time ceremonies, by candle light, the place where you both love to be together, that magical place in the countryside.

At the breaking of dawn or in the middle of the day. In the woods, on the beach, in your garden, in a very posh hotel or the village hall. The choice is yours!

And if you choose to have your ceremony in your own environment, perhaps with a beautiful tent in your garden, you are able to control the costs for example wine and food.

We are committed to helping you find natural and sustainable ecological and economic ways to celebrate your marriage.

How much does it cost?
The ceremony is the most important part of the day, it’s the memory you make, which will sustain you in the future. What you say and what is done in the ceremony seals the relationship between you. It needs careful preparation over time. You should give your ceremony more attention than anything else. You also need to be happy and comfortable with your choice of celebrant; you need to trust that everything will be created in an intelligent, thoroughly professional way but with lots of fun, imagination and creativity. With this knowledge at the forefront of our work, we ask for a fee that reflects the work involved.

We charge a fee of £400.

This includes initial meeting, writing first draft of ceremony and revising draft until it’s just right for you both, liaising with people involved in ceremony, rehearsal of ceremony and readers, singers and musicians, supporting family and friends during the day, use of ritual objects, and of course conducting on the day. We also present a beautiful copy of the ceremony afterwards.

In addition we ask for travelling costs at £10 per hour, travel expenses and overnight accommodation where necessary, this is always agreed beforehand.

The payment is made in stages.

At the initial meeting we ask for £50 which is offset against the cost should you wish to proceed.

We then ask for £100 for the first draft of the ceremony to go ahead, this is the non refundable deposit.

We invoice you after the ceremony for the remainder of the fee, £250 and expenses.

If there are a large number of guests, over 150, we recommend a trained assistant who would accompany us and assist in looking after the guests. We charge £100 plus expenses for this.

We are also able to provide a PA, sometimes useful for out of doors ceremonies.

We began creating Civil Ceremonies for Gays and Lesbians at The London Partnership Registry set up by the Mayor of London.

Gay and Lesbian Wedding Ceremonies

We have conducted weddings for Pink Weddings and a wedding ceremony at the Gay Wedding Fair.
