The intention of a Namegiving Ceremony is to honour and recognise the baby’s natural state of grace and beauty. It enables us to be still and reflect on our responsibilities to this new born child and indeed to all the children on our Earth.

A Namegiving Ceremony enables you to consider your dreams for your child’s future and openly declare your support for her as an individual human being.

The Naming Ceremony is an occasion for the expression of love and joy, hope and acceptance, and Light on Life use the best of our Music, Literature and Art.

We work with you to make absolutely sure your child’s ceremony is unique.

We enjoy helping people to plan Rituals and Ceremonies that express their personal and spiritual beliefs.

We spend time with you and offer ideas and suggestions to help you find words and music of your own choosing, so that your Ceremony reflects your cultural identity, your memories and aspirations.

We can create ceremonies for new-borns, older children and adopted children.

We charge a fee of £250, this includes an initial meeting of approximately two hours, writing of the first draft of the ceremony, liaising with those involved in the ceremony, writing of the final draft, conducting on the day and supporting you and your family and friends. We also present you with an attractive copy of the ceremony.

We also ask for travel expenses and overnight accommodation if necessary. If the ceremony is outside a radius of 20 miles from Lewes we charge a travel time of £10 per hour.

We are also able to provide a PA system, useful if an outdoor event, live musicians and help with venues.

The fee is payable in stages, £50 for the initial meeting, £100 as a deposit to begin the creation of the first draft and then £100 after the ceremony is over and you are happy with everything.
